You don't have to drop a massive load of cash just to check out international artists

With many touring artists returning to Australia after a long hiatus and ticket prices seeming to creep up to eyewatering heights, the five artists below will deliver without leaving you broke.

Sam Fender

After giving a blazing performance at this year’s Glastonbury Sam Fender’s rockstar status was confirmed. The indie-rock songwriter reached a massive audience with his 2021 album release Seventeen Going Under featuring his poignant and raw poetic storytelling style. He's been likened to Bruce Springsteen but from a thoroughly English North Shields perspective.

This November he’ll be touring around the country and with shows selling like snags at a Bunnings' sausage sizzle, you’ll need to be quick.

The talented Grammy award-winning Rn’B artist is making his way to Australia for a series of concerts that promises to bring together his broad catalogue of music including River, Lisa Sawyer and Bad Bad News. Bridges is known for his vintage delivery of Rn’B with a contemporary twist that delivers a fresh take on soul music.

His performances are top-notch and it’s been a long hot minute since an artist of this calibre has visited our shores so catch this captivating singer when he arrives in September.

The Kooks

The Kooks' beloved album Inside In/Inside Out is a perfect slice of 2000s alt-indie, and the band is paying homage to its 15th anniversary with a belated tour in celebration of the milestone.

The group is set to perform the album in full with concerts at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, Melbourne’s Festival Hall and two shows at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. If you can’t make it to any of their solo shows they’ll also be making an appearance at the Grapevine Gathering festival along with the likes of Ball Park Music and Jack River.

Tame Impala

If it feels like you’ve been waiting years for this tour you would be right. This year’s Slow Rush Tour has been rescheduled a couple of times due to COVID but the wait is finally over with Kevin Parker returning for a homecoming victory lap in October. The concert has been traversing the world to rave reviews and the show’s production literally needs to be seen to be believed.

Featuring songs off The Slow Rush and other many other iconic songs from Parker's previous releases, this is the concert everyone will likely be adding to their “end-of-year Best Of” lists.

Stormzy

Originally slated for 2020 Stormy is set to land in Australia in November to blow crowds away with his lyrical rap mastery. The British powerhouse is known for dominating the UK underground with his grime-driven flow that has garnered him a couple of successful albums including Gangs Signs & Prayer and Heavy Is The Head.

He’ll be travelling all around Australia with dates in most cities and given it’s been over five years since Stormzy blazed through, his shows are set to be bumping.
